OLE JONAS STORLI

I grew up in Norway, Overhalla, (a little tiny town in
the middle of nowhere:). I started playing trumpet and
alto horn when I was
young, and took up the piano” keyboards” at the age of 14. I also worked
at a local radio station as a sound-producer, vignette-maker and editing
manager. Unfortunately this only lasted a year as the station went bust :)
Then I started the college. It was a kind of mixed school with music,
dance and drama. I played rock, pop, blues and boogie-woogie etc, but I
was playing a lot, and I enjoyed it.

I believe it was at that time that one of my
teachers there, Trond, introduced me to jazz, country and fusion for which
I’m very grateful now. I should also mention my first music/piano teacher
who was so patient with the “totally unmusical” me. I would not been
playing the piano now had it not been for him. I have always enjoyed
studios and sound-engineering. Suddenly some good friends of mine bought
their own studio..... I hope they can forgive me for all my noise :) After
three years I moved to Trondheim, where I lived for two years, playing and
studying rock piano.

Following on from this I
moved to Denmark and applied at the Academy of Music, Esbjerg and that’s
where I am now. I play piano, Rhodes, Hammond
Organ and “analog stuff”. I also compose and work with live sound and in
my own Pro Tools studio. I play jazz, rock, pop, country, noise music,
blues, funk and electronica. But people still call me boogie-woogie Ole or
Ole Blind :)
